The position includes working with several external developers on various design-related issues across multiple platforms.
Primary responsibilities include working with external partners to ensure that the product vision is consistent with our portfolio strategy and quality expectations. Equally important are consensus building, leadership and communication skills such that messaging to developers is clear and representative of the larger MS product team. Finally the candidate must be committed to helping best realize a creative vision that is ultimately owned by the external partner and not the MS design director.

Other responsibly include: Relationship management skills, coordination of design related resources (playtest, test etc), ability to leverage MS resources effectively and finally a strong ability to bring innovative and creative design ideas to solve specific (typically low-level or mechanical) game issues.

Requirements: Candidates must have 5+ years of proven production/design experience in the game industry, preferably in a senior or lead role on multiple shipped titles. Experience on MMP or Console action titles is preferred. Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to integrate with a wide variety of development cultures. They should be able to challenge assumptions and ask the questions that help to focus and refine individual project design goals, as well as realizing broader solutions that can be adopted across multiple titles.

Given that the position will work closely with our external partners, travel will be required
